The firm set up its 500-lawyer network in South East Asia, Rajah & Tann Asia, a year ago. Managing partner Lee Eng Beng is credited with delivering the strategy which has produced this growth across nine countries including Malaysia and Myanmar. Speaking from Singapore, he said that growth in other jurisdictions is 'nothing like what we will ever see here again'. He added: 'In places like Indonesia, for instance, the growth is significantly higher than in Singapore.'
Overseas income
Mr Lee expects to be sending more lawyers from Singapore to the other countries to cope with the demand. The firm earns about 40 to 50% of revenue from outside its home base. Source: Straits Times
