US firm Proskauer Rose has promoted 33 lawyers in its largest ever round, with 25 making partnership and eight elevated to senior counsel roles.

The promotions are spread across more than a dozen practices and include members from nine of the firm’s offices, mainly in the US. New York saw the most promotions with 12 partners and four senior counsel. London followed with six partner promotions, with Boston picking up three new partners, Los Angeles two partners and Washington DC a partner and a senior counsel. The firm’s Paris office saw one partner promotion – corporate lawyer Stéphanie Martinier – while there was one senior counsel promotion each in New Orleans, Boca Raton and Chicago. Last year the firm promoted 26 lawyers in total, 14 to partner and 12 to senior counsel.

Women made up eight of this year’s partner cohort, or 32%, while they accounted for half of all senior counsel promotions. The partner promotions included private client services lawyer Kimberly Braun and employment and labour lawyer Michelle Annese in New York and finance and private credit expert Harriet West in London. This year’s round is a slight improvement on last year, when 29% of partner promotions were women. Half of senior counsel promotions were also women in 2021.

The labour and employment practice saw the most overall promotions this year with six, though only one made partnership. Private credit saw the most partner promotions with five, followed by private funds (four) and finance (three). Private client services, litigation, tax and technology, media and telecommunications all saw two partner promotions each, while the litigation practice also saw two promoted to senior counsel.

Proskauer also hired M&A partner Liam Arthur from William Fry in London at the start of this month, adding to October hire Frazer Money, who joined its London tax practice from Kirkland & Ellis.
