As part of its 2020 business transformation strategy, NRF is opening a business services centre in the Philippine capital in September to handle business development, document production, HR, marketing, IT, finance, compliance and knowledge management work.
The roles will be moved to Manila over the next five months and account for five per cent of the firm's global support services jobs.
‘Treated in a sensitive and respectful way’
The firm said in a statement that a consultation process will begin shortly with staff whose jobs may be affected. Mark Whitley, NRF's global chief operating officer, commented that: ‘We will do everything we can to provide support to those affected, ensuring that they are treated in a sensitive and respectful way.’
