The Luxury Law Awards 2022 are now accepting entries – with law firms, legal departments and specialist advisers encouraged to take part.
The awards will be presented on 22 June at a reception at the Luxury Law Summit Europe, which will be attended by a host of leading general counsel from the luxury sector as well as top executives, entrepreneurs, designers and outside counsel.
The judging panel includes Kate Wilkinson, group general counsel of Mulberry, Louise Butler, global head of brand protection at Diageo, and Joanne Loughrey, associate general counsel for L’Oreal UK and Ireland, who recently took part in a Q&A with GLP.
Showcase categories include The Marella Naj-Oleari Luxury Business In-House General Counsel of the Year, which last year was awarded to the Goodwood Estate’s Kate Palka, and Legal Team of the Year, which went to Charlotte Tilbury.
Private practice awards include Luxury Law Firm of the Year, which was secured by Bird & Bird in 2021, and Partner of the Year, which was awarded to K&L Gates’s Arthur Artinian.
The deadline for entries is 28 April. There is also a process for nominating third parties with a deadline for nominations of 28 March to allow nominees time to submit entries.
This will be the 10th anniversary of the Luxury Law Summit, which provides general counsel and their teams with a unique opportunity to discuss the challenges facing the sector, sharing insights on the latest trends and challenges while also hearing from leading figures within the world of luxury.
Confirmed speakers include Bremont Watch Company co-founders Giles and Nick English, jewellery designer Stephen Webster, Food Influencer Sophie Healy Thow and Andreas Kronthaler, creative director of Vivienne Westwood.
Topics will include: legal issues in the metaverse; the latest developments in brand protection; creating and protecting digital assets; and supply chain transparency.
Sponsors include Fox Rothschild, K&L Gates, King & Spalding and Van Bael & Bellis.
