Linklaters has hired a partner in London from Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) to launch a global risk advisory practice.

Jane Caskey has joined Linklaters after more than 20 years at NRF, where she was global head of risk advisory and chief client officer. She is the fourth NRF partner to lave NRF in London for top tier rivals within the last week, two cyber security partners having joined Allen & Overy and a white collar crime specialist having been snapped up by Latham & Watkins.

At Linklaters Caskey will serve as global head of risk advisory and head of clients and sectors. Linklaters said Caskey would establish a new multidisciplinary risk advisory practice with the full range of legal and now risk consulting services across the firm’s network.

It added that the practice would “help clients to design and implement the governance and operational frameworks and the processes, systems and controls to enable them to embed effective management of legal and compliance risks within their organisations”. It will advise clients in areas including: ESG/sustainability, supply chain and energy transition; digital transformation; financial services, financial crime and sanctions.

Andy Vickery, Linklaters’ global head of finance, commented: “Clients face a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape and getting it wrong can be hugely damaging for a business and its reputation. The addition of Jane, alongside the establishment of our central risk advisory practice, will greatly enhance our seamless and unique client offering allowing us to assist clients in managing and mitigating their legal and compliance risk from end-to-end.”

Caskey’s hire comes just a few days after the co-head of NRF’s global data protection, privacy and cybersecurity practice, Ffion Flockhart, joined Allen & Overy as global head of cybersecurity. Litigation and dispute resolution partner Charlie Weston-Simons moved over alongside her. Also last week, Latham & Watkins hired white collar crime partner Pamela Reddy from NRF in London.

An NRF spokesperson said of Caskey’s move: “We wish her well in her future endeavours.”

Anglo Australian law firm Ashurst launched a UK risk advisory practice of its own last year, adding partners from PwC and boutique consulting firm Rosediem and relocating a partner from its Sydney office for the launch.
