Top Japanese law firm Mori Hamada & Matsumoto is to launch an office Myanmar. The office, which will be based in Yangon, will be headed up by the co-representative of the firm’s Singapore office partner Takeshi Mukawa. Pending regulatory approval, it plans to open its doors in the next few months, making it the second Japanese firm to open in Myanmar – Nishimura & Asahi set up in Yangoon last year. Meanwhile, the firm is also planning to open an office in the western Japanese city of Osaka on 1 April. It says: 'The Osaka Office will initially be staffed by three of the firm’s lawyers - Takuya Eguchi, Hirokazu Hayashi, and Takamasa Sato - who have extensive experience in domestic and international corporate matters, including matters involving China, Asia, US and Europe.'
