The International Bar Association (IBA) is set to tackle issues at the heart of law firm management at Law Firm Management: 2021 Online Report to the Legal Profession, a virtual event supported by the IBA Law Firm Management Committee.
The free-to-attend event, which is supported by The Global Legal Post, will take place on Friday 3 December at 15:00 MSK/13:00 CET/12:00 GMT in lieu of the 15th iteration of the IBA’s Law Firm Management Conference in Moscow, which has been postponed until next spring as a result of the current Covid-19 situation.
Past iterations of the conference have attracted more than 150 participants, with this year’s conference set to provide a forum for decision-makers involved in law firm management to come together and share their global viewpoints despite Covid-19 constraints.
This year’s three-hour long session is set to be co-chaired by a panel of law firm management specialists: Vladislav Zabrodin, managing partner of leading Russian law firm Capital Legal Services; Zoya Ilyenka, co-founder of Barcelona-based law practice North Legal; and Rolandas Valiunas, managing partner Ellex Valiunas, Lithuania’s largest business law firm.
Topics on the docket for the event include the status and prospects of the legal market’s global development, the future of the legal community and the formation of legal associations and compensation in law firms, nurturing law firm leaders and the role of legal design as a communication tool, among others.
The discussion will also zero in on issues related to diversity and inclusion (D&I), which have taken centre stage in the legal industry in recent years. Participants will be granted access to the co-chairs' insights on the role of D&I in law firm development as well as fostering law firm culture and retaining compliance with international client expectations.
The speaker line-up includes Norman Clark, co-founder and managing partner of Fort Myers, Florida-based management consulting firm Walker Clark; Alexander Khvoshchinskiy, co-founder and partner of Legal Stratagency in Berlin; Itzik Amiel, founder and CEO of business networking platform The Switch in Amsterdam; and Elena Avakyan, vice president of the Russian Federal Chamber of Lawyers, among others.
A number of senior-level lawyers from a range of prominent international firms, including Osborne Clarke, Hogan Lovells, Morgan Lewis & Brockius and Dentons also participated in planning the event as part of the organising committee.
