Chanel names new intellectual property counsel

Chanel's Heather Strum

Chanel has named Heather Strum as Intellectual Property Counsel, based in New York. In this role, she focuses on matters related to trademark infringement and prosecution, copyrights, and other IP-related issues. 

Previously, Strum was an associate in Denton's intellectual property and technology group in its New York office as well as an associate at a boutique IP firm. She earned her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was a staff editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal.  She also interned for several global brands, including J. Crew, Coach and Elizabeth Arden.  Before law school, Strum attended Lehigh University, where she majored in psychology and double-minored in mass communications and entrepreneurship. While in college, she assisted with ongoing research in the field of social psychology and was a news writer for her university’s newspaper, The Brown and White.
